Expect a more realistic collision with other objects and YOU WILL TAKE DAMAGE due to the damage boxes being enlargened. Damage zones: The damage zones were unchanged from the S Boat this was based on originally. The ship wake looks more accurate to waht an Ohio would throw off. Rework ship wake: Not 100% happy with this but happy enough to release it. Retexture hull and sail: Cancelled/Deferred Change and move periscopes: Reworked the periscope models to look more accurate and moved to proper locations. Change torpedo loadout: A lot less than what you may be used to with only 13 reserves and 4 in the tubes. Rework compartment layout: Moved equipment around the boat I.E. But of course game limitations may require you to pop the hatch to change out the air. Eliminate air search radar: About the only times you should be surfaced is to transit in and out of home port. I wouldn't plan on seeing a full compliment though. Change manning levels: Added more crew members to better reflect manning levels. Move OOD in Bridge: The Officer of the Deck was moved from one of the lookout pookas to the actual bridge cockpit. Radar on an Ohio is primarily used for surface navigation only, not locating targets. Adjust Radar mast height: Adjusted height of radar mast to a more appropriate height. You're a nuclear submarine, make submerged attacks! So got rid of them to give it an at sea look. Remove cleats from hull: The cleats on an Ohio submarine are retractable, all of them. Remodel Rudder: Rudder was reshaped to more accurate form. Doing so eliminates issues with the stock game conning towers not showing up properly. Combine Sail and Hull files: Data files for the hull and sail were combined into one file set. This is a WWII sim, nuc boats wern't around and so they can't be portrayed 100% accurately. Recommendations: Play with Limited Fuel, Batteries, and O2 off. You would need to know some modding to do this because you need to open all the files in S3D and winmerge for checking the text files to see which values get changed and make the same changes to the current "up to date" game file used today, but it will not be hard and just takes time and the patience to do it.Original mod by Toma Gabriel (original readme included) this way you will make a v1.5 compatible version of the mod the way the original modder had intended it to work and then if you decide to share the mod simply give full credit to him with an explanation of what you did to make it work for todays game If you like the mod then try this, open the files in the mod and make a list of all the files so you can create duplicate copies of those same unmodded game files from your game so you can then mod them to make changes to the same correlating files from your game. There was another mod back then made by mush martin called uber boat I think, or something like that, and with that mod you could take on a task force while you were surfaced and sink the whole lot and survive (or maybe my memory exaggerates a little) but he got so much grief from "certain" members that he removed the mod and wouldn't even discuss it anymore which was a shame because even though some hate mods like that, sometimes its fun to play "God mode" and just blow stuff up like crazy. I suspect the problem to be that it was made for an earlier version of the game, maybe v1.3 or v1.4 before the v1.5 we all use today. It's for someone who just wants to sit down and find stuff and blow it up.
